Félix Food Logistics, present at the debate on insurance strategy at the CETM Congress

The general manager of Felix Food Logistics – division of the Pañalon Group specializing in the transport of food liquids – and president of CETM Cisternas, José Manuel Lara, participated in the round table ‘The insurance strategy in the transport company’, held within the framework of the second day of the 20th National Congress of Transport Entrepreneurs in Gijón.

During his presentation, Lara emphasized the importance of accurately defining each company’s insurance needs in order to tailor coverage, optimize costs, and, above all, minimize risk exposure. In this regard, he stressed that beyond direct damages, companies must pay particular attention to the indirect consequences of accidents, such as the loss of clients, contracts, or reputation, which in many cases have a greater impact on business operations.

He also highlighted the efforts being made by the sector, and in particular the Pañalon Group, in the areas of prevention and safety, with investments in:

  • Fleet renewal.
  • Preventive maintenance.
  • Efficient route planning.
  • Use of secure parking facilities.
  • Geolocation and telemetry systems.
  • Internal operating protocols.

“Reducing accidents requires investment, planning and control,” Lara said, insisting that professional risk management is essential to guarantee the sustainability and competitiveness of transport companies.

His participation reinforced the overall message of the day: the need to move towards a model based on collaboration between insurers and carriers, as well as on prevention and risk awareness as strategic elements for the future of the sector, in line with the commitment of the Pañalon Group and its specialized divisions.
